When I was sent my request to one post office in Malta on January, I hope that it will help me cancel nice postmarks on my mail - of course for philatelist. My mail franked with a set of seahorse stamps originally issued on 2002, which their face values are in old currency of Malta while the country begins to use Euro since 2008, so I worried it may be bounced back to me. After a month, I received above mail, it included the request mail without any cancellation, one message without signature and no sender address. The message only says the stamps are not valid on postage, quite interesting.
UNESCO was held International Year of Planet Earth on 2008, many countries issued related stamps and most of them illustrated space, trees and ocean, seem boring as all stamps are look same. This anonymous letter franked with one of this issue, a tree grows in the grassland. But I checked Malta Post website where doesn't have any detail of this photograph.
